What is included with the Meals on Wheels of West Los Angeles Home Delivery program?

Meals on Wheels of West Los Angeles offers two nutritious meals per day, five days a week. Additional meals to cover the weekend are available, if required. Deliveries are made by caring volunteers between 10:45 am and 1:00 pm.

Additionally, Meals on Wheels West Los Angeles provides a daily wellness check. The safety and wellness of our clients is our top priority.

Are there any requirements to qualify for the service?

We serve all in need regardless of age. If you are homebound and unable to shop or cook for yourself, we are here to help.

When will I receive my first meals?

Normally, our clients receive their first meals within 24 hours of signing up.

What if I can't afford the cost of $9.50 a day?

Please call our office at (310) 208-4028 and we can work something out.

Who cooks the food?

We purchase from local kitchens that specialize in meals for seniors and operates in compliance with all health department regulations. Preparation, packaging, and delivery of meals are done under the guidance of a registered dietician and menus are approved by the Department of Aging.

What if I have food allergies or require a special diet?

We can accommodate the following dietary restrictions: low-sodium, diabetic, renal, puree, vegetarian, and low vitamin K.

I have difficulty carrying things. Can the drivers bring my meals inside?

Yes! Our drivers are ready, willing, and able to bring your meals into the kitchen, leave them on a table, or put them into your refrigerator—whichever is most helpful to you. You can also accept them right at the door.

Special procedures to accomodate COVID-19 protocals may change the above.

Can I suspend service for a couple of days without being cancelled from the program?

Yes. 24-hours notice is kindly requested.
